Chamberlin Hotel
Hampton, Virginia (circa 1928)
The Chamberlin Hotel is a 212,000 Square Foot, 9-story building that was built on nearly five acres of land at Fort Monroe in 1928. McPherson Design Group assisted in the design for the restoration and reuse of the building. We provided contract documents for the conversion of the existing building to 131 Independent Living units ranging from one to three bedrooms. Renovations were also made to the grand lobby, indoor pool, terrazzo floors, and palladian windows. Our Design Team assisted in securing Federal and State Tax Credits through the Department of Historic Resources and the National Park Service in order to complete the renovations on the historic components of the building.
