Riverdale Elementary School

Courtland, Virginia

McPherson Design Group provided contract documents for this project, which included the design of a new one story, 83,000 square foot elementary school in Courtland, Virginia. The primary structural systems are comprised of wood roof trusses, masonry bearing walls and shallow foundations. Steel framing is also incorporated as required for high load elements and/ or spacial constraints. The design included multiple administrative and support areas, a cafeteria/ commons area with kitchen, a 8,000 square foot gymnasium with accompanying areas, and multiple media centers. McPherson Design Group provided construction administration services for this project as well.
