McPherson Design Group has designed a series of retaining walls at Norfolk Botanical Gardens since 2005. Several of these retaining walls were designed to replace the existing retaining walls supporting the NATO Tower. These retaining walls were failing due to poor soil density in those areas. Additionally, McPherson Design Group recently provided structural design for major renovations to the administrative building at Norfolk Botanical Gardens. These renovations include structural repairs to address settling foundations, replacement of existing HVAC systems and reconfigurations to enhance the functionality of the administrative wing and original auditorium. Construction costs of these renovations have been estimated to be $1.3 Million. McPherson Design Group has provided construction administrative services for all of this work.
