Tidewater Korean Baptist Church

This project consisted of a 2-story, 22,000 square foot addition to the Tidewater Korean Baptist Church. This project also included the demolition of existing structures and modifications to the building’s interior and structure. The first- floor addition includes an auditorium, conference room, classrooms, a children’s chapel, and men’s and women’s toilet facilities. The second- floor addition includes classrooms, a youth lounge, and boys and girls toilet facilities. First floor construction consists of concrete footings and slab on grade. The second- floor construction consists of an elevated concrete slab with open web steel bar joist framing. The roof is supported by open web steel bar joists with metal deck, insulation, and single-ply roofing. The exterior walls consists of metal studs with exterior gypsum sheathing and exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS). The front and rear atriums consist of structural steel framing, aluminum storefront exterior walls with steel standing seam roofing over metal deck and open web steel bar joists. The project also included modifications to existing roadways and driveways, a new drop-off canopy, additional parking and sidewalks, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems and incidental related work.
