Churchland Bridge Replacement
McPherson Design Group has provided annual inspections and periodic repairs to the Churchland Bridge since 1994. In 2012, it was determined that the North Bound Lane would need to be replaced and the South Bound Lane needed extensive repairs, including resurfacing. Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP USA) and McPherson Design Group teamed to complete this project, with WSP USA handling the North Bound Lane and MDG handling the South Bound Lane. The replacement bridge will be approximately 1,200 feet in length. The design of the South Bound Lane is complete and the design of the replacement North Bound Lane is nearing completion at this point. As overall Contract Administrator, MDG is providing a 3rd party Quality Control Review of the North Bound Lane replacement design. The entire design followed VDOT standards and was completed under the McPherson Design Group Structural Term Contract.
